Launching Qur'an Arabic for 2022/23

It gives us great pleasure to announce the launch of Qur’anic Arabic for 2022/23. This introductory course is offered exclusively for undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Leeds. The course will be delivered completely online, making it even more accessible. Classes will take place on Tuesdays, 17:00-18.00, during term time, beginning in week 3. Spaces are limited but we are setting the cap high. Registration is very straightforward: send an email from your university account to Dr Mustapha Sheikh ([email protected]), with “Register for Quranic Arabic” in the subject header.

The course begins with the very basics (refer to the outline https://iqbalcentre.leeds.ac.uk/critical-madrasa-studies/quranic-arabic/), although the ability to read the Arabic script is a pre-requisite. The course follows Alan Jones’ Arabic Through the Qur’an.
