Since their return to power, the Taliban have waged a relentless campaign against the women of Afghanistan. Recently, the Taliban have even banned women’s voices in public. Join us on the last day of 16 days of activism to examine and challenge the Taliban’s interpretation of Islamic law in our webinar ‘Challenging The Taliban’s Mistreatment of Women From an Islamic and Human Rights Perspective’. This panel, hosted by Musawah in collaboration with Femena and Rawadari رواداری, brings together several Islamic scholars, including the Iqbal Centre's Dr Mustapha Sheikh, and other experts to examine the Taliban’s edicts from an Islamic perspective, challenge their interpretation of Islamic principles, and call for regional solidarity in support of Afghan women’s rights. This event is free and open for all to attend. Pre-registration is required at this link:

Professor Kamal Salhi will follow with an anthropological response to this important panel discussion on this page in due course.
